We have a wide variety of room options available to suit everyone and with no need to pay a deposit to secure a room all you need to know is what room is right for you and then get applying.

What's next?

If you want to live on campus your next step is to apply. Our accommodation application pages always open in mid-January for students planning to start in September of the same year.

If your course starts in January then our application pages will be open from the end of November/early December.

Apply before any deadlines relevant to you and you'll be guaranteed to receive an email offer in due course. It's a good idea to take a look at our application timeline so you know what to expect and when.

When living on campus this year I'm looking forward to...

Having easy access to everything the campus has to offer - the library, social events, restaurants/bars, being close to my classes and just meeting new people all the time.

2023 Clearing

Last year we were able to offer a room to all our Clearing students who wanted one and we hope to be able to do the same again as we aim to accommodate all new first year undergraduate students on campus.

In 2023 we are able to guarantee room offers to the first 500 Clearing applicants who request Canterbury accommodation and firmly accept their offer of study.

All Clearing students wishing to live in Pier Quays (Medway accommodation) will be guaranteed a room offer.

However, don't worry if you are not eligible for our guaranteed room offer as your request will still be considered once you have an unconditional firm offer of study at Kent with room offers made on a first-come-first-served basis.

Once you receive an offer of accommodation you will have 48 hours to accept it so keep an eye on your inbox and junk folders.

We've made it as easy as possible to apply, but the main thing to remember is that you don't need to apply for accommodation separately. You only need to tell us when asked within your Clearing application if you need accommodation - we'll do the rest.

What happens if I'm studying on a short or pre-sessional course?

We have accommodation set aside for students who will be studying with us for less than 9 months, with contract lengths to match your course dates. If you are starting in September, you can apply anytime before 30 June to be guaranteed to receive an offer, but it's always a good idea to apply as early as possible!

Starting in January?
You are also entitled to a guaranteed room offer and can apply between 1 November and early December (the deadline will depend on your course start date).

For postgraduate students, as well as applying online, you should also email us at accomm@kent.ac.uk once you have submitted your application to confirm your interest.

What if I don't qualify for a guaranteed offer?

Don't worry, we have lots of rooms available, so just because you don't qualify for a guaranteed offer doesn't mean you won't get a room on campus.

Our advice - apply as early as possible. We allocate rooms based on your first application date so if you apply early there's still a good chance you'll receive a room offer from us.

Please note that we have no family rooms on-site and only limited couple accommodation meaning we cannot guarantee rooms for these applicants.
