Student immigration and visas

The student immigration website contains useful information for new and current students about a range of immigration topics throughout your academic journey at Kent.  

We have information on the different types of visa to see which one is the best fit for you. These include:

• Standard Visitor visa
• Student visa (see below)

We provide information on how to apply for a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS):

• if you are a current student
• if you are an applicant or starting a new course

We also provide Student visa information, including how to apply for a Student visa:

• if you are an applicant outside of the UK
• if you are an applicant inside the UK
• if you are a current student

Once you have arrived in the UK, you will need to:

• collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), if applicable
• register in person with the Student Immigration Compliance Team in the Arrivals Hub (this is only applicable to visa students)
• read your Student visa responsibilities

It is no longer a requirement to register with the police upon your arrival in the UK.
