Your options for saving work and sharing files at Kent

Online file storage

OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint provide a secure way to store and organise documents, and collaborate online with staff, students and peers inside and outside the University.

OneDrive for Business

OneDrive is your online individual file storage area while at Kent, with 1TB of space.

  • Access OneDrive online from any device
  • Access it from campus PCs easily
  • Download the app to your mobile or laptop

To share files with anyone at Kent (staff and students), you can send them a private link that only they can use. If you allow others to edit a document, you can see when each version was changed and who changed it. 

For extra collaboration features, use Teams (see below).

Microsoft Teams

Shared space for conversations, file storage and teamwork.

Teams offers much more than online chat and video calling, it's a space to collaborate on files. It's perfect for group and team working.

SharePoint (staff only)

For staff and postgraduate research students.

SharePoint Online is a staff intranet to store files and share content.

University network folders

Easy to access from a campus PC. Stored securely on the Kent network.

You can access your Kent filestore from anywhere using your own laptop

From off campus you need to connect with the VPN to the Kent network to access them.
