Information for students preparing to Go Abroad

The Go Abroad team is here to help! If you have any questions while you planning for your time abroad, please contact either Go Abroad team's Erasmus staff (if you are going to Europe) or the team's Study Abroad staff (if you are going outside of Europe).

Compulsory preperations:

Applying to the host university

On accepting your placement allocation, the Erasmus and Study Abroad teams will nominate you to your host university. Please download the Application Process guide document for more information.

Pre-departure briefings

Pre-departure briefings for study placements abroad take place in Spring/ Summer term of 2nd year. Students will receive an email confirming the date and must attend in order to take up their placement.

The Boarding Pass

The Boarding Pass is a fantastic tool to prepare students registered for a term/year abroad. gives the opportunity to win a £500 bursary to help you while abroad. Deatils for 2018/19 coming soon.
