Welcome to Kent!

We hope you’ve had a good journey and you’re ready to get settled in. Staff and students will be across campus and at Pier Quays all weekend to help you to move in to your new home and to answer any questions you may have. Keep an eye out for their bright orange t-shirts!

    Living at Pier Quays?

    Arrive during your pre-booked check-in time slot. Once you have unloaded your bags, please move your car to the Drill Hall Library car park. Please note, after Arrivals Weekend (from 18 September) you will need a permit to park on campus.

    Arriving late? Don't worry!

    Pier Quays accommodation is staffed 24/7. If there is no-one at reception when you arrive, you can call the Emergency Control Centre on 0300 303 1611. They will call and arrange for a member of staff to come and help you move in.

    Free hot drink and cake

    Over Arrivals Weekend (16-17 Sept), students and their supporters can get a free hot drink and cake or pastry from the food truck outside the Gillingham Building, from 09:30-15:00.

    Collect your KentOne card: your student ID

    Go to the Arrivals Centre in Rochester Building to collect your KentOne card (student ID), complete immigration checks (if required) and to ask any questions you may have about finance or student support.

    Once you are settled, have a look at lots of events happening during Welcome Week - from subject induction events to creative workshops and parties, there is something for everyone to meet people and get to know your campus!

Arrivals Centre in Rochester Building

Open Arrivals Weekend (16-17 Sep) 10:00-15:00 and Welcome Week (18-22 Sep) 10:00-16:00. 

The Arrivals Centre brings together administrative teams to help you in person.

Collect your KentOne card (student ID), complete immigration checks (if required) and ask any questions you may have about finance or student support. 

Get stuck into uni life!

We’re so excited you are here, and to celebrate, we have organised a jampacked programme of events for you to get to know the campus, other students and staff at Kent. This includes:

  • Welcome Fair to meet sports teams and societies
  • laser tag, UV games and sports 
  • quizzes, games and more!

Also look out for events organised by your Division to meet your course mates and staff. Don't miss these - they will be really helpful for you to get ready for when teaching starts on 25 September!
