International students

These pages will give you lots of useful information about preparing for your arrival in the UK and settling in to university life.

Enrolment and registration

It is essential that you enrol online as soon as possible. Look out for your 'How to enrol' email in your applicant portal in-tray.

Registration will take place remotely. You don’t need to do anything further once you’ve completed your enrolment – we’ll let you know by email when your registration is complete and you are officially registered as a University of Kent student. We’ll also let you know how you will receive your KentOne student ID card.

Help with quarantine costs

The University has agreed to cover the costs of a managed quarantine hotel stay for all Undergraduate and Postgraduate students arriving from a red list country, whether you are starting with us this year or are returning to continue your studies.

At present, under UK government restrictions, those of you who are based in a red list country will need to quarantine for a period upon arrival in the UK.

If this affects you and you are required to pay to stay in a managed quarantine hotel, the University will reimburse your quarantine costs to the maximum value of £2,285* into your student account against in the first instance a) University accommodation fees b) tuition fees c) credit held on your student account for future fees d) reimbursement by bank payment into your UK bank account.

*Please see terms and conditions on our website for full details.

Support during your quarantine period

Make sure you complete the online form to let us know that you're planning to quarantine from a red list country so we can support you.

We will be offering a 1-2-1 Quarantine Buddy Scheme during the quarantine period. Our friendly College and Community Life Team will also be on hand to offer support.

Kent Union have arranged online events to support you through your quarantine period before Welcome Week starts.
