The KentCOG Tool Library is a FREE service which supports and enables UoK students to grow their wellbeing through caring and nurturing plants in their own spaces.

How it works

All UoK students may apply to borrow garden tools and equipment for FREE.

Tools can be collected on a Wednesday morning and returned the following Wednesday morning and are signed in and out on site.

All students who apply to borrow from the library must participate in a session at KentCOG to familiarise themselves with how to use the equipment appropriately and look after it so it can be used confidently and returned safely.

What can I borrow?

To support growing in a variety of spaces and ways, you can borrow all sorts of different tools and equipment. From large garden forks for those bigger spaces to small hand trowels for those little patches. We have pots, compost and seeds available for your houseplants or windowsill herbs and lots of support and advice to offer.

Membership and Borrowing Terms and Conditions

All students borrowing tools will need to have fully read, understood, and signed our Membership and Borrowing Terms and Conditions. If you have any questions you can email us at kentcog@kent.ac.uk.

If you want to find out more about how to grow in your indoor and outdoor spaces, learn some techniques or just talk about what you're growing, then come along to one of our open sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays and get involved in growing together.
