My role involves working across the University to ensure we minimise our impacts on the environment and that we embed sustainability into everything we do. Day to day I can be doing anything from writing key strategies for the delivery of sustainability to advising schools and departments on legal compliance. Luckily I still get to spend plenty of time out and about on campus with Emily raising awareness and promoting what we do.

The main part of my role is delivering FutureProof which is our overarching culture change project which helps individuals and departments embed sustainability into all of their activities. This means I get to meet and work with lots of people across the University. Everyday is different. I also help run the Kent Community Oasis Garden with East Kent Mind which is a wonderful space on the Canterbury Campus where Students and Staff can come and learn how to grow food and get away from their busy schedules.
