Your Uni, Your Say - University of Kent

Your Uni Your Say

It is quick and easy to give feedback and you can help make a positive change for all students

How you have made a difference at your Uni

In response to student feedback over the last year, the University and Kent Union have:

📱 Invested in fast and reliable next-generation Wi-Fi you can access anywhere on campus.

🔍Made it easier to find over 50m library resources through LibrarySearch Discovery.

🎾 Upped our Kent Sport offering, including more affordable monthly gym membership payments, and women and non-binary only gym sessions.

🥗 Added new and more diverse dishes to our menus on campus, including Three Little Birds, Kerala Curry and Hellas Kitchen. And that’s not all! We have also managed to reduce the price of hot food on campus by around 20%.

🏠 Launched a new ResLife programme of events, run by students for students, making sure it includes the events you want to go to.

👩🏾 Created the Living Black at Kent booklet in response to Unite’s research that surveyed students from across the UK.

🚌 Increased the capacity of the Campus Shuttle between Canterbury and Medway, and added more journeys to meet your travel needs.

🕓 Extended Nexus helpdesk’s opening hours in Templeman, including weekend opening times.

🐶 More pets as therapy! Every time we host a session, students ask for more and now they are regularly in Templeman Library.

🍴 Extended the popular £3 hot meal deal to a sandwich meal deal too. As well as making our meal plans more flexible.

☕ Organised research cafes to provide opportunities for postgrads to present their research and meet other researchers at Kent. As well as more postgrad study space and events at times to suit postgrads. See the Graduate Researcher College to learn more.

📧 Extended postgrad access to their Kent email accounts after they leave uni.

📚Created new types of study space on campus so they meet your study needs.

💻  We are improving our laptop loan service so you can borrow them for longer and outside the library.

🎓 Your Division has also been making changes through their Student Voice Forums. They have made changes to the support they provide, events they run and, working with your lecturers, improving how your course runs.

Have your say on our next strategy

From 2025/26 we're looking into having three terms, with a core first year for each course and simpler module choices throughout. This will help us spread assessment throughout the year so it's closer to the modules you're studying.
