Photocopy in two parts of a playbill advertising JACK SHEPPARD and DEAF AS A POST "This Evening, Thursday, December 26th" at the Theatre Royal, Hull. Also advertises a forthcoming production, for the next day, of a farce titled THE BRITISH LEGION. There is no year date provided, but as the production of JACK SHEPPARD is advertised as "First Time, an Entirely New Romantic and Historical Drama", the year must be 1839. The author (or, rather, adaptor) of JACK SHEPPARD is "Mr. Lee Moreton" -- the pseudonym Boucicault used from 1838 as actor and writer until the success of LONDON ASSURANCE in 1841.
