Victorian and Edwardian Theatre
This student curated exhibition is part of the final assessment for module DR575: Victorian and Edwardian Theatre. The students are split into groups: each group produces their own creative work. As well as displaying the creative presentation, each group also constructs a website to stand alongside their exhibition.
This module was initially taught in the autumn term of 2010 and the spring term of 2011. In 2013, the module was relaunched with an increased focus on the use of archives in research. For more information on each exhibition, please follow the links below.
This presentation project is the culmination of the module, which the students work towards throughout the term.
The task set for each group of students is to choose and explore any topic which is of interest and importance to the study of Victorian and Edwardian theatre. After examining the key issues of their chosen topics, each group selects primary sources from Special Collections to analyse and inform their research. The groups then create a mini exhibition to present their findings and demonstrate their conclusions.
