Opportunity details: This is an opportunity to be a collection project assistant. You will be part of a team working to undertake a significant collection care project at the Powell-Cotton Museum (PCM). With over 20,000 historic African objects, 6,500 mammal specimens from Africa and India, and fine and decorative arts from across Asia, the PCM’s collection is expansive, important and world-renowned. We are currently cleaning, documenting and rehousing a significant proportion of our collection.

Location: Birchington-on-Sea, Kent

Date(s): Two weeks between June and September 2024. Two days per week over five weeks is preferred, but this is negotiable.

Post-September: Unconfirmed – to be confirmed at interview stage.

Remote Working: The employer has not confirmed whether this role can be undertaken remotely.

Travel costs: Yes - within reason, exact amount to be confirmed at the interview.
