We’re here for you with our social media pages, apps and quick links to place on your phone to assist you with travel on and off-campus. Below are some university links that may assist you with travel and movement to, from and around our campuses. There are also many other useful external links that we recommend you look at and download if you may think you require them; these can be found on our Planning your Journey webpage 


@unikent_travel – follow for transport and travel news or recommendations given by the Transport Team. 

@CampusShuttle – follow for updates on the university shuttle service, including information on the rare occasion there are any delays. 

@UKC_access – follow for updates about any disruptions at the Canterbury campus to buildings, paths, roads and cycle ways that will assist with physical accessibility and movement around campus  

@UKM_access - follow for updates about any disruptions at the Medway campus to buildings, paths, roads and cycle ways that will assist with physical accessibility and movement around campus

Safezone app – It’s free and designed to help students and staff summon first-aid, security or safety assistance via your mobile phone 

Getting around – quick link / bookmark the main transport and travel webpages onto your phone so you can use it as a tool to familiarise yourself with Kent’s transport and its links to travel around. 

Parking Permit – quick link / bookmark this page so if you are one of a few people who have a permit you can easily access your account to activate the correct vehicle or purchase daily vouchers. 

University of Kent Social media guidelines

The University’s social media sites are places where we encourage interaction and discussion between students, staff, alumni, friends, in fact anyone interested in the University of Kent. 

If you post a question to the University on this site we will respond as promptly as possible during working hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm). If your enquiry falls outside of these hours, we will get back to you as soon as possible when office hours resume. If your enquiry is urgent please contact Campus Security - 01227 823300. 

We ask that you’re respectful in your comments. We reserve the right to remove anything we deem: 

  • Abusive or personal attacks 
  • Material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous, hateful or embarrassing to any other entity 
  • Third party advertising 
  • Chain letters or ‘spam’ 

We also reserve the right to terminate involvement by users who post such content.
