Tommaso Perego

Associate Lecturer in Music

 

Tommaso Perego is a composer and performer based in London.

Tommaso Perego is interested in collaborations with theatre, film, multimedia and dance. His music has been performed at the Linbury and Clore Studios of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, King’s Place, The Place and at Bonnie Bird Theatre in Trinity Laban Conservatory, London. He has performed at a number of prominent conferences and festivals such as ICMC in New Orleans, Copenhagen and New York, SICMF in Seoul, SPARK Festival in Minneapolis, and Signal & Noise in Vancouver.

In 2005 Tommaso won the iXem Prize 2005 for experimental music with the Incastro Ensemble and received a commission in 2009 from s.p.n.m, Sound and Music. He currently produces works for the experimental theatre company Rotozaza – their show Wondermart has been translated into five languages and is currently touring worldwide – and for Silvia Mercuriali, for whom he has composed the music for the podcast The Eye, which is included in the series Bodypods sponsored by Fuel Theatre and The Guardian. Since 1999 he has curated and produced the music for Lilithwork’s factual and socially engaged documentaries.

He is currently studying for the PhD in Sonic Arts at Goldsmiths, University of London, which involves investigating sound movement and surround sound technologies in relation to choreographic and dance practices.
