Postgraduate studies
English Language & Linguistics (ELL) offers both research and teaching postgraduate degrees. Our student benefit from training by enthusiastic and dedicated staff with expertise in a variety of areas of linguistics, from formal to quantitative and experimental fields. The Department runs the Centre for Language and Linguistics which runs an active programme of events throughout the year.
ELL postgraduate students also benefit from excellent library facilities, a well-equipped Linguistics Lab, an ELL-specific induction day, peer-mentoring (in addition to pastoral care and research supervision by staff) and an departmental events that provide staff and students with opportunities to participate in and promote their research, from attending and presenting at CLL events like linglunch to taking part in ELL's annual Research Day.
