In the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, an impressive 93% of Kent's Physics research outputs were judged to be world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*), representing a strong upward trajectory in research quality.
There was a fourfold rise in the number of Physics and Astronomy staff included in our REF 2021 submission and this, in combination with an improvement in overall GPA, has resulted in a significant increase in Research Power.
