About

Pushyarag Puthusserry is a Senior Lecturer in Strategy and International Business. Previously, he held positions at University of Sussex, Queen’s University Belfast and Royal Holloway University of London. He had been a Visiting Scientific Fellow at Jacobs University Bremen, Germany in 2015. He obtained his PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2012.

Research interests

Pushyarag’s research focuses mainly on internationalisation of SMEs, specifically on internationalisation business models, and the potential relevance of psychic distance, network relationships, innovation and learning. He is currently involved in a six-nation project investigating the internationalisation of SMEs from China, Denmark, India, Poland, UAE and the UK.

Teaching

Pushyarag has taught international business strategy, global business environment, international business, international entrepreneurship and research methods at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He follows research-informed, interactive teaching methods by ensuring maximum participation from students.

Supervision

Pushyarag Puthusserry would be interested in supervising projects on:

  • Social enterprise business models 
  • Innovation in SMEs and International New Ventures
