Students living in Keynes Flats share a spacious kitchen with seven other people. The kitchens are modern and perfect for people that enjoy cooking. The bedrooms are all en-suite rooms and students can apply for standard or extra-large* rooms.
Accommodation costs include gas, heating, electricity water, internet, personal contents insurance and a premium sports membership.
*All extra-large en-suite rooms have a 22” TV with Freeview (including TV licence).
Accommodation is available from September to June, 39 weeks and includes winter and spring vacations. Residents may stay in their rooms during these vacation periods.
You can apply for a room using our online application portal from mid-January to 30 June for a guaranteed offer for applicable students, although our application pages are open after this date too.
I liked Keynes because it is very central and the restaurant in Keynes (Dolche Vita) is my favourite place to eat on campus. I love their chicken Caesar salad, and the outdoor seating area is a nice place to relax during breaks.

Living in Keynes Flats
If you're moving into Keynes Flats, there are a few things you should know before you arrive. It's your home for the best part of a year, so do everything you can to make the most of your time here.
Planned maintenance
During the 2022/23 academic year planned maintenance will be underway across Turing Houses and Turing Flats. Although the maintenance will not be carried out on Keynes Flats, certain Keynes rooms that face Turing Flats may have views obstructed due to access equipment and potential disruption from workers on-site Monday to Saturday. The planned maintenance will be managed carefully through regular communication to minimise impact to Keynes residents.
Bedding sizes and information
The bed sizes in Keynes Flats vary depending on the room type. Ensure you bring the right size bedding with our handing Bedding Guide.
You can bring your own bedding, or purchase a bedding pack plus other essentials at our partner site UniKitOut once you have been allocated to your room.
Housekeeping and laundry facilities
Keynes College has its own launderette with laundry facilities run by Circuit Laundry. One washing machine cycle costs £2.70 and one tumble dryer cycle costs £1.30. This can be paid via the Circuit Laundry App or a top-up card.

Support services
Each accommodation area is part of a College with Keynes being part of Keynes College.
Colleges are looked after by the Colleges and Community Life Team who can offer you advice, help and support on a variety of topics on University life. They also oversee the Residential Life Assistants (RLA) on campus who are typically returning undergraduate or postgraduate students available to offer advice and support and to help form a close knit student community in your college.
The University also has an award-winning Student Support and Wellbeing Team that offers a range of services including emergency support, community events, counselling, support groups, accessibility and learning support and much more.
For day to day enquiries, such as mail and parcels, receptions are located in each college. Our reception teams offer a wealth of knowledge about student accommodation and the University campus. The College and Community Life Team play a big part in supporting students living on campus and arrange lots of activities throughout the year for you and your fellow Keynes College members to get involved with.
