How will you get involved?

University Sports Scholarship Scheme

The University of Kent is committed to delivering sporting excellence and is proud to offer scholarships to students with outstanding sporting ability at both Canterbury and Medway campuses. The amount to be offered will be determined by the University Sports Scholarship committee and each case is considered on its own merit.

The Sports Scholarship committee is led by Mel Clewlow, Director of Sport, who has over 250 international hockey caps and has played in two Olympic Games (Sydney and Beijing). She brings a wealth of experience to the scheme and is able to mentor our scholars and inspire them to greater things.

Most athletes have dreams and ambitions. I certainly did and know how much hard work it takes to achieve them.

~ Mel Clewlow

Director of Sport

Who is eligible?

Scholarships are available to elite sportsmen and women from any sport who compete (at least) at county level or equivalent, however an ambition to compete nationally is preferred. Scholars should be committed to representing the University of Kent in their chosen sport and preferably play for teams based at the Canterbury campus.

We consider undergraduate and postgraduate applicants, as well as current students who wish to embody the expectations and attitude of the Programme.
