About

Saghi Arabi is a Postgraduate Researcher in the School of Psychology.

Research interests

Saghi is interested in understanding the neuropsychological and biological human predisposition to cognitive impairment. She is working to develop effective therapies through Galvanic Vestibular Stimulation (GVS) for individuals with neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Her previous research focused on personality antecedents of impulsive behaviour and alcoholism (BSc) and neural mechanisms underlying cognition of face recognition (MScRes). Currently, Saghi is working on her PhD project titled: “The contribution of the vestibular system to temporal attention”, where she aims to assess whether a non-invasive neuro-modulation (GVS) can reduce the temporal attention difficulties experienced by individuals with ADHD or dyslexia.

Saghi joined Professor Wilkinson’s team in 2016 as a Clinical Research Assistant at the University of Kent and worked in collaboration with Scion NeuroStim LLC on a clinical trial investigating the effects of Caloric Vestibular Stimulation (CVS) for the management of motor and non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease.

She is currently a PhD Member of The British Neuroscience Association and a Graduate Member (MBPsS) of The British Psychological Society.
