About

Ashley Casson joined Kent Business School in September 2010 following a career in commerce as a Chartered Certified Accountant. She gained a wide range of experience working within a variety of businesses within Kent and also spent a decade successfully running her own accountancy firm offering accounting services to small, local businesses. In addition to being a qualified accountant, Ashley has a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting and MA in Higher Education (Kent). Ashley was Director of Studies for the undergraduate Accounting and Finance programmes from 2014 to 2021.

Research interests

Ashley is particularly interested in threshold concepts and their relevance to teaching accounting, as well as accounting education in general and wider higher educational issues. 

Teaching

Ashley's teaching interests include financial accounting and taxation and she takes a keen interest in keeping up-to-date within her teaching areas.

Supervision

Ashley does not supervise PhD students.
