Prior to returning to Kent, Matthew worked at the University of Essex, where he was responsible for developing and delivering training programmes for postgraduate research students and contract research staff. Matthew's previous experience includes teaching a broad range of undergraduate history courses at Kent, and as a tutor on the university's VALUE programme.
Matthew holds a PhD in the History and Cultural Studies of Science.
