The University of Kent Academies Trust (UKAT) was established on 1 September 2017. There are currently two secondary schools within the Trust.
Brompton Academy was established in September 2010 and was officially opened in its new buildings in June 2015. The Academy is the most oversubscribed school in Kent and Medway with a thriving new 6th form.
Chatham Grammar School for Girls (CGSG) was incorporated into the Trust on 1 September 2017.
Brompton Academy is an all-ability co-educational school that engages with the whole community. The University provides an Access to Higher Education programme for adult learners in the Brompton community in addition to working with the school’s students.
The University is supporting the development of both the academies through close links with academic departments and by the engagement of our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The Partnership Development Office (PDO) works closely with Brompton Academy on all aspects of its development and provides a conduit between Academy and University staff and students with the aim of developing a formal, long term and mutually beneficial relationship. It will build upon this approach with CGSG.
The University also co-sponsors Longfield Academy and the University provides a range of curriculum support to the school.
