Access to Higher Education

A different route to university

Whether you’ve just finished your GCSEs or you’re an adult looking for a new challenge, the University of Kent can help you take the next steps towards a degree. The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a qualification which prepares you for study at degree level.

At Kent we offer a range of Access to HE courses at a number of different locations. Our evening courses for adults are taught at Brompton Academy  in Gillingham or Hartsdown Academy  in Margate and students can study Creative Writing, English Literature, Politics with Law*, Psychology and Sociology.

We also offer a daytime course for students aged 16+ who are looking for an alternative to sixth-form. The University Entrance Diploma, taught at Kent's Medway Campus, offers  units in Biology, Chemistry, Cultural Studies, English Literature, Psychology and Sociology.
