Access to Higher Education

A different route to university

Whether you’ve just finished your GCSEs or you’re an adult looking for a new challenge, the University of Kent can help you take the next steps towards a degree. The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a qualification which prepares you for study at degree level.

At Kent we offer a range of Access to HE courses at a number of different locations. Our evening courses for adults are taught at Chatham Grammar and Herne Bay High School and students can study Creative Writing, English Literature, Politics with Law*, Psychology and Sociology.

*Chatham Grammar only

We also offer a daytime course for students aged 16+ who are looking for an alternative to sixth-form. The University Entrance Diploma, taught at Kent's Medway Campus, offers  units in Biology, Criminology, Cultural Studies, English Literature, Psychology and Sociology.
