How to apply

Applications for the Ros and Andrew Holden Scholarship should be made via your application portal, where you will be able to view any scholarships for which you may be eligible to apply.

You will need to have received a formal offer for your programme in order to submit a scholarship application.

In order to apply for this scholarship, you will need to submit a statement of no more than 500 words, describing your motivations for study at the University of Kent, demonstrating your academic potential and how the scholarship will support your studies.

The successful applicant will be chosen on the basis of:

  • Demonstration of financial hardship - The student must have made an application for student support to Student Finance England. Student Finance England use the student’s household income to assess whether the student is eligible to receive a bursary. If the student is eligible to receive a bursary, then they will have demonstrated socio-economic need as required by the criteria of the scholarship. You will be asked when applying to confirm by way of a check-box that we may use the demographic information you supplied to us when you started at Kent to establish your eligibility for this award.
  • Strength of personal statement
  • Evidence of have lived/been educated in Kent for the last 4 years

This award is subject to University of Kent Terms and Conditions which will be provided to successful candidates at the point of award.
