STEM subjects are considered as any Undergraduate course from the following schools:
School of Chemistry and Forensic Science
School of Physics and Astronomy
School of Sports and Exercise Science
School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science
This scholarship has been generously funded by Ros and Andrew Holden and will fund the tuition fees of a Kent based widening participation student studying a first degree in any STEM subject for three years.
The successful candidate will be invited to meet the donors on an annual basis to update them on their experiences and progress.
Continuation of the Ros and Andrew Holden Scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic progress as defined in the University Terms and Conditions applicable to this award. If the student fails to make satisfactory academic progress the award may be suspended until such time as the student is able to progress to their next year of study, or will be terminated by the Scholarships Office. This decision to suspend or terminate the scholarship will be at the discretion of the University of Kent responsible for the award.
Applications are open to those applying for 4 year courses that include a Sandwich year, Placement Year or Year Abroad, but the award will only be applicable to the 3 years of study at the University campus and not the year away.
Applicants applying for a Foundation year course, or offered a Foundation year course are not eligible.

You will need to have received a formal offer for your programme in order to submit a scholarship application.
In order to apply for this scholarship, you will need to submit a statement of no more than 500 words, describing your motivations for study at the University of Kent, demonstrating your academic potential and how the scholarship will support your studies.
