About

Aarohi is a Research Student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the School of Psychology.

Research interests

  • Forensic cognitions
  • Healthy and forensically relevant sexual interest(s) (especially paedophilia)
  • Neurocognitive methodologies

Aarohi's research focuses on understanding the neural correlates of sexual interest and the cognitive processing of sexually desirable stimuli. She will use different methodologies, like brain stimulation (tDCS) and EEG with various implicit tasks (Viewing Time, Implicit Association Test), to ascertain the optimal assessment and measurement of sexual interest. Additionally, she aims to diversify currently used pictorial stimuli sets to include multiple ethnicities and body types in order to shift the focus from Eurocentric notions of beauty/attraction and bring more inclusivity to her field of work.
