2022 Away-Day: Setting the tone for the year ahead.

It felt like the longest time since we were all able to meet, physically, together as a faculty, so there was a great feeling of anticipation for the year ahead at our 2022 Psychology Away Day.

‘We were able to discuss improving student experience for a large part of the day, the changes we are making and can make in the future.’ Head of School Professor Robbie Sutton explained  ‘As well as presentations on our research, over the last couple of years, specifically on the impact it has had in real world terms.’

This impact was evident in our really strong set of REF2021 results demonstrating the excellence of our research and its benefits for society: our submission reflected our world leading expertise across many areas of psychology, embracing the rigorous study of brain and cognition, human development, forensic psychology, social, personality, and political psychology.

The great turn-out paired with the excitement at being able to hang out and chat face-to-face, made for a fantastic, committed atmosphere. It certainly set a great tone for the year ahead – one which we are all certainly looking forward to!
