Over 400 business leaders, academic experts and local government representatives are expected to attend the Kent Business Summit 2020 which will take place at the Canterbury campus on Friday 10 January.
A key focus of this year’s summit will be sustainable economic growth for the county.
Launched in 2018, the Summit has become one of the key dates in the south east’s business and local government calendar, with its main sponsorship coming from Crowe, one of the leading audit, tax, advisory and risk firms in the UK. Its supporting sponsors include Brachers and Southeastern Railway.
Organised and hosted by the University’s Kent Business School (KBS), the summit encourages business, government and academia to collaborate in tackling challenges in four priority areas for county Kent: transport infrastructure, placemaking, productivity and skills development.
This year’s speakers include: internationally renowned ‘change maker’ and sharing economy expert Benita Matofska; Sam Turner, Chief Technology Officer at the High-Value Marketing Catapult; Professor Jagjit Chadha, Chair of the National Institute for Economic and Social Research; and Bank of England South East Agent Phil Eckersley.
The University’s Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, David Nightingale, and Kent County Council Leader Roger Gough, will provide the opening address.
