KLS is part of the Division for the Study of Law, Society and Social Justice (LSSJ). LSSJ is a large, diverse, multidisciplinary Division with a shared ambition to make a difference; we strive to engage critically with social justice practices and projects at home and around the world. Our shared goal is to interrogate how we can make society work better for all.

‘Prepare for Law’ is an exciting series of preparatory activities developed exclusively by Kent Law School for the benefit of our undergraduate law applicants.
This initiative is designed to give our incoming law students the confidence to succeed in their studies. Your participation will not only help secure your place at Kent, it will also provide you with a supportive bridge to university level study.

What practical legal skills can I gain at Kent?
You will have opportunities to develop practical legal skills in Mooting, Mock Trial Advocacy, Negotiation, Mediation and Client Interviewing. These activities enable you to build your confidence and learn “by doing”. And it’s an excellent way for you to apply what you learn in the classroom.
Lawyering skills
Learn more about our innovative programme of lawyering skills which, this year, culminated with a moot final before the Supreme Court President!
Triathlon
The UK’s first National Law Student Triathlon, sponsored by Thomson Reuters, hosted by KLS in our purpose built moot court
Mooting
A “moot” is a simulated oral court hearing where students get to argue over points of law. Learn more about mooting at Kent!

Kent Law School boasts a number of student societies run by law students for law students. As well as offering an excellent opportunity to make new friends and have some fun, you can choose to get involved as a committee member - another great way to gain new skills for your CV, and build your networks.
