Dr Christian Crentsil


Christian Crentsil is a Lecturer in Economics (Education, Scholarship, and Professional Practice). He obtained a BSc in Agriculture (Economics major) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He received an MSc in Agricultural Development Economics from the University of Reading, and a PhD in Agri-Environmental Economics from the University of Kent. He joined the University as a lecturer in January 2020.

Research interests

Christian’s research interests lie in the empirical application of tools in behavioural and experimental economics to unravelling production choices of smallholder fish farmers in developing countries. Specifically, he has been focusing on examining the effects of risk and ambiguity preferences on the adoption of new technologies, as well as the efficiency of production among smallholder farmers.
