About

Graduate Teaching Assistants hold a unique position in the University; they are both registered doctoral students and employees of the University involved with teaching, supervision and assessment (in the form of marking) of undergraduate students. Working as a GTA provides research students with an opportunity to broaden their experience and develop further skills as a member of the academic community of the School of European Culture and Languages, contributing to the life of the School and to their department and its research centres.

Graduate Teaching Assistants support academic staff, faculty members, and other staff members in the delivery of teaching or teaching-related duties to students in a variety of learning environments. They have the opportunity to deliver four hours of teaching each teaching week during the Autumn and Spring terms, working under the supervision of an academic member of staff.
