Scholarship holders can expect to receive between £500-£2,000 for each year of study (pro-rata for part-time students), subject to satisfactory academic progress. For a maximum of 4 years full-time (or part-time equivalent). The amount awarded is dependent upon household income.
You will automatically be awarded the Kent Ambition to Succeed Scholarship if you have completed the University of Kent Succeed Programme no more than two academic years prior to your entry to Kent, and you are a UK home fee paying student.
In order to have completed the programme, students must have had a minimum of 75% attendance.
Please note that KMMS students are not eligible for this scholarship.
The Kent Ambition to Succeed Scholarship extends our support to those students who participated in the University of Kent Succeed Programme. The scholarship is worth between £500-£2,000 for each year of study and will be renewed on an annual basis, subject to satisfactory progress. If you are required to repeat a year, the scholarship will be paused until you continue to the next stage of study.
The amount awarded is dependent upon a number of determining factors including household income and the number of awards available on the year of entry to the University.
Please note: you are not eligible to receive both the Kent Ambition to Succeed Scholarship and the Kent UKAT Ambition Scholarship/Kent Access to HE Ambition Scholarship. You are able to apply for the scholarships you are eligible for and your application(s) will be assessed accordingly, but you will only be offered one of these scholarships.
Kent Ambition Scholars Programme
Kent Ambition to Succeed Scholarship holders will be invited to join the Kent Ambition Scholars Programme. As part of this programme, you will receive targeted support throughout your student journey and encouraged to develop your employability skills by being invited to apply to different opportunities within the University, such as becoming a Student Ambassador.
There is no application process for this scholarship. Students who are eligible for this scholarship will automatically be awarded between £500-£2,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time students). Award amounts will be confirmed by the end of October in your year of entry to the University.
Please note: if you are deferring entry to the University or not applying straight from school/college, you can defer entry/take a break for one year (only) and remain eligible for the scholarship, subject to this scholarship being available at the time of entry. If you are not coming straight to the University of Kent from school/college and you have successfully completed the Ambition to Succeed programme, please email outreach@kent.ac.uk by 31 August in your year of entry to the University so that we can ensure you are considered for the Ambition to Succeed Scholarship.
If you defer entry/take a break for more than one year following completion of school/college, we regret that you will no longer be eligible for the Ambition to Succeed Scholarship.
