On this occasion, Dr Deacy, Reader in Theology and Religious Studies and host of the Nostalgia Interviews podcast, speaks with Professor Mark Connelly of the School of History.

During their conversation, Chris and Mark reveal their enthusiasm for Christmas, discuss Mark’s visits to the Imperial War Museum and the Tower of London when young, and their shared love of Mr Frank Sinatra.

Mark Connelly is Professor of Modern British History at the School of History. He has broad interests in modern military history and warfare, culture and society. He is particularly interested in the commemoration of the two world wars with a specialism in the work of the Imperial (now Commonwealth) War Graves Commission. Professor Connelly is also interested in popular perceptions of war and the armed forces in Britain and the Commonwealth from the mid-19th century.
