Support for students with concerns about their mental wellbeing is highest at Kent which has been revealed in a survey by the Tab newspaper.

Kent was top among the 30 universities surveyed. The Tab considered how satisfied students are with the service, how much investment the service receives from the university, and the university’s outreach, including how approachable students find it.

At Kent, Student Services manages a distinct range of services for all students and staff with an emphasis on student welfare, pastoral support, flexibility, innovation, efficiency and effectiveness. Student Support and Well-being is highly visible within the University and the full range of services are clearly valued.

In the Tab rankings, Kent’s outreach, which includes how students feel about the services offered, did particularly well scoring 100 out of a 100, indicating the positive impact the University is having on its students.

The high corresponding satisfaction scores also shows that students found the support from the University useful, including counselling and specialist mental health advice and support, which are part of a number of services on offer to help improve student life.

The University, which now has almost 20,000 students across campuses and study centres, was ranked first in London and the South-East for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2016 and also achieved the fourth highest score nationally out of all publicly funded, multi-faculty universities.
