About

Steve Senior joined the Centre for Journalism in September 2018 following a 34 year career in Broadcasting. Steve worked as an Engineer, Technical Manager and Studio/Facilities manager.

Much of his TV career was spent in and around ITV’s regional newsrooms covering the period when journalists moved from typewriters to computers; right up to the latest multimedia newsrooms used in ITV today.

As a Studio Manager he managed the studios at ITV Yorkshire, working on programmes like Countdown, Question Time, “My Parents are Aliens”, Bullseye and a host of other game shows, panel and light entertainment shows. Studio productions covering everything from entertainment, through film shoots to live political debates with the Prime Minister.

As a facilities manager in Outside Broadcast he and his teams were responsible for the fleet of vehicles that covered a huge range of Outside Broadcasts – Wimbledon to Glastonbury, The Boat Race to The BBC Proms, The Grand National to the BBC’s coverage of Formula One.

Having joined the Centre for Journalism he hopes to share his technical knowledge and passion with the next generation.
