So you’ve received an offer to study at the University of Kent’s Canterbury campus - what’s next? Apply for accommodation, of course!
Where you live is an important part of your university experience. Whether you're an undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG) student, explore your options before applying. To help you decide, start with these four key questions.
Accommodation applications open at the end of January 2026 for students starting in September. If you apply before 30 June 2026, you’ll be guaranteed a room offer, provided you meet our eligibility criteria.
Students applying through Clearing are also covered by this guarantee. You can find full details on our Accommodation Guarantee page.

New UG and PG students who have received a conditional or unconditional offer from Kent can submit an accommodation application.

Medway students and the first 1,800 Canterbury returner applications are guaranteed accommodation as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
To make changes to your room preferences, log in to your account before 16 February 2026.
New undergraduate KMMS students who have received a conditional or unconditional offer from the University can apply for accommodation via a dedicated application link. Accommodation applications are also open for returning KMMS students.
Returning students should apply by 23 January to qualify for our accommodation guarantee. Make sure you check the guarantee details and eligibility criteria. You can still apply after this date, but a room can’t be guaranteed.
Accommodation offers for returning students will be sent in batches starting late March, with offers issued in the order applications are received.

If you haven't received your room offer yet, today is your last chance to amend your preferences. Log into your account to make changes without affecting your initial application date.
The University receives confirmation of A level results and makes decisions on applications. Other results may be received at different times.
Once all conditions have been met, unconditional places are confirmed, and we complete the room allocation process we start sending out offers in batches to the email address you supplied in your application.
Offers expire 48 hours after being sent.
UG and PG late, adjustment and clearing applicants must apply online and answer the question requesting university accommodation when prompted via the online clearing application process.
Your details are then passed to the Accommodation Office**
We'll email you to let you know when your Accommodation induction is ready to complete. Then just log back into the MyAccommodation portal and complete it before arriving for all the key info you need (including your room number!).
