Adam Chodzko, Senior Lecturer in Fine Art, is one of six film-makers and directors shortlisted for the prestigious Jarman Film Award.

Organised by Film London, the £10,000 award is named after artist, activist and experimental filmmaker Derek Jarman, who died in 1994 aged 52. The shortlisted directors will see their work screened across the UK.

Adam Chodzko is based in the School of Music and Fine Art at the Medway campus. His art works, exploring  the interactions and possibilities of human behaviour, have been exhibited at venues around the world, including Tate Britain, Venice Biennale, Deste Foundation, Athens and PS1, New York.

His artwork, Ghost, was selected for Sculpture in the City, an annual public art exhibition in the City of London, which runs until May 2016.

Winner of the Jarman Award will be announced at the Whitechapel Gallery on 30 November 2015. As well as the prize money, the winner will receive  support from Channel 4 to produce a new film for its Random Acts arts strand.
