Celebrating our amazing students
We're lucky to have some amazing students at Kent. Each month we'll be celebrating a student or student group. Get inspired. #ProudToBeKent
A new society this year, Kent Mind has created supportive events for students and fundraised for charities Mind and Student Minds.
Tobias and Nicolette, both peer mentors, created a series of successful workshops for fellow Psychology students to ensure knowledge and connection was not lost between year groups after the pandemic.
Kudos to the Korfball Society! From very few players during the pandemic, to coming second nationally at BUCS!
Korfball is a welcoming, mixed-sex sport which has similarities to both netball and basketball.
Being visually impaired from a young age, Millie has not let this stop her. She is not only a Paralympic medallist in skiing, but also a Commonwealth Karate Champion!
Rachel won targetjobs Undergraduate of the Year Award Celebrating Neurodiverse Talent, winning herself an internship with Rolls-Royce!
Grace led a “Mixed Roots” event for individuals from multiple and undefined cultural and ethnic backgrounds to share experiences and connect.
The event was a “fishbowl” discussion, in which the audience were encouraged to suspend their own feelings and to listen with the intention of understanding, rather than responding.
Lewis has done it all – from President of the Poker Society to Peace Ambassador.
And after finishing his final year exams, he went to Las Vegas to report at the World Series of Poker!
