Pre and Post Natal Exercise Referral Scheme | Kent Sport

Pre and Post Natal Exercise Referral

The Pre and Post Natal Exercise Referral Scheme is designed to promote physical activity for women who are pregnant or recently had a baby.

Our qualified and experienced Exercise Referral Coordinator at the University of Kent Sports Centre will provide support to you during a structured 12-week exercise programme.

About the Pre and Post Natal Exercise Referral Scheme

Our brand new service as part of our Exercise Referral Scheme aims to support pregnant women and women who have recently had a baby to include exercise and wellbeing into their daily routines. With specific support and guidance from our Exercise Referral Coordinator, you will be supported throughout the 12-week programme with individual training plans and goals.

  • Once you have been referred, you can book your initial consultation with our Exercise Referral Coordinator who will meet with you to discuss your medical and exercise history, complete a nutrition questionnaire, and get you started with your programme.
  • Throughout the 12-week scheme you can use the gym, group exercise classes, and sports facilities to complete your prescribed exercise programme. You will also be able to discuss your progress, diet advice, and general well-being with your Exercise Referral Coordinator.
  • At the end of the scheme, you will have a final appointment with the Exercise Referral Coordinator, where you can discuss your progress and how you will continue your new, healthier lifestyle.

Please note, we are not currently able to support babies and small children during the Exercise Referral sessions.
