General Election 2015

With only weeks to go until the general election, read UKPOLLINGREPORT for survey and polling news by Yougov's Anthony Wells. Anthony comments almost every day on methods and results of fascinating series of pre-election polls in Britain (telephone, on-line, sample composition, sample weighting, intention to vote etc.).

Rochester and Strood By-Election, Q-Step Election Special

Welcome to the University of Kent Q-Step Centre's `Election Special'. Inspired by the Rochester and Strood by-election in November 2014, over the two weeks running up to the election we delved into some of the facts, figures, and state-of-the art academic research on key election issues.

We kicked off the Election Special with a brief introduction to the Rochester and Strood constituency.

Subsequent posts did not attempt to compete with the news by reporting developments in the election, but instead provided readers with a tour of the academic landscape on issues surrounding the campaign.

We linked key issues in the by-election to national issues, and to cutting edge research being done here at Kent, including some of the quantitative work being done by members of our Q-Step team.

New posts were added daily until the 20th of November in order to help readers see how social science research can help us understand key election issues!
