Denis Smalley will present his new multi-channel work Fabrezan Preludes in the Colyer-Fergusson Hall on the Canterbury campus on 21 May at 6pm.

Commissioned by the University’s School of Music and Fine Art (SMFA) to celebrate Professor Smalley’s 70th birthday, the three preludes are part of an exciting programme which also includes his other works Vortex (1982), Sommeil de Rameau (2015) and Pentes (1974).

Professor Smalley is one of the world’s leading acousmatic composers and Honorary Professor of Music at the University of Kent.  He is a scholar and pioneer of electroacoustic music and his works are widely acclaimed, winning a number of international awards.
