At the Centre for Journalism, we believe in quality. From the outset, we planned to establish the department as a centre for excellence. One of the ways we have achieved that goal is by teaching our students in small groups, giving them a very personal experience.
Contact time - the amount of time you spend with members of staff - is exceptionally high.
It's hard work for us, and for you. But we find it's the best way to prepare you for this most demanding of professions.
Each student is also allocated a personal tutor for the duration of their course. Someone on the staff that they can talk to one-to-one about their progress on the course.
We additionally run a student mentoring scheme, whereby students from other year groups volunteer to offer advice and guidance to their newer colleagues.
