There is a lot of energy in Yoyo and every day is different. You will be involved from day one helping with everything from social media and blog writing to organising events. The marketing internship will be supporting the sales and marketing team to promote the agency and win new business.
We have a fairly flat hierarchy and everyone contribute to the agency's success. This role will not involve getting the teas and coffees!

We have an internal philosophy called ‘Generation Play’ which underpins our entire agency. We believe that if we take the time to play, it will boost everything from our productivity to our creativity. The agency has giant Jenga, PlayStation, beer fridges and lots more to help us relax. We genuinely enjoy coming to work each day, producing world-class solutions and having fun.
As a small agency, this person will learn far more about all aspects of marketing than a larger company. This will help that person understand which parts of marketing they enjoy and which parts they don't. Yoyo is also a recognised small agency within the industry. It is classed as one of the top agencies under 20 people in the UK. Being part of a successful agency looks good on a CV!
An Interview with Jenny Kitchen, Managing Director
The EP team recently travelled to Tunbridge Wells to meet with Yoyo Design's Managing Director, Jenny Kitchen. The team were not only amazed by the working space (which involved lots of Lego, Star Wars merchandise and skateboards!) but also by the magnitude of the rewards!
EP team: What are greatest the highlights and challenges of your role?
Jenny: The greatest highlights of my career have been winning awards for the work that we produce. Beating The Army and Thomas Cook for a law website called Law Set Free was a great feeling! We have also been finalists and winners for ‘Best Employer’ several times, which again was a very proud moment for us.
The challenges have always been when there have been misunderstandings between the agency and a client, usually about technology. A lot of the work we do is fairly complex behind the scenes and so sometimes there can be misinterpretations. We always get there in the end though.
EP team: Please describe Yoyo Design?
Jenny: Yoyo is a creative digital agency made up of talented individuals of strategists, designers, developers and project managers. We work with lots of different brands around the world from tech start-ups to global, household names. All the companies have one thing in common though – they want to do things differently.
EP team: How will these rewards help ensure students stand-out from the crowd when they graduate?
Jenny: As a small agency, this person will learn far more about all aspects of marketing than a larger company. This will help that person understand which parts of marketing they enjoy and which parts they don’t. Yoyo is also a recognised small agency within the industry. It is classed as one of the top agencies under 20 people in the UK. Being part of a successful agency looks good on a CV!back to top
