This module offers the opportunity to try different disciplines. This part of the Foundation Year is about further interdisciplinary exploration and experimentation. Students will explore and think about different forms and ways of creative thinking and practice. Through a series of short projects, they will develop key skills in observation, investigation, experimentation, interpretation, design thinking, documentation, and communication of your work. Some projects will align closely with students' chosen specialist discipline, and some with other disciplines, to help them become multi-skilled, versatile, and critical creative practitioners. It will ask students to consider how they might communicate with a variety of audiences. Key skills developed may include freehand drawing, the basic principles of construction of objects, making maquettes, and photography. Key output is a holistic portfolio that captures the process and product, and may also include within it, a manifesto, and a reflective journal.
