Overview

This module provides an introduction to research, ideas generation, experiment speculative thought, and the communication of ideas. It encourages dialogue; independent reflective & critical learning and fosters a studio culture. Students will explore and think about different forms of creative thinking and practice. Through a series of short projects, students will develop key skills in observation, investigation, experimentation, interpretation, documentation, and communication, particularly within a chosen discipline.

On successfully completing the module students will be able to demonstrate an ability to:

1. Generate ideas, concepts, proposals, solutions or arguments independently and/or collaboratively as self-initiated activity and/or in response to set briefs FC1 (AD6.4.i)
2. Demonstrate proficiency in observation, investigation, enquiry, visualisation and/or making FC2 (AD6.4.ii)
3. Develop ideas through to outcomes that confirm the student's ability to select and use materials, processes and environments FC3 (AD6.4.iii)
