What is i-teams?

i-teams is a unique project focused on students solving real-world business challenges.

By joining the programme, you will be placed into a multi-disciplinary team and provided with a current business challenge to address. Over 8-weeks, you and your team will meet up – alongside an industry expert – to focus on the challenge and create innovative solutions.

At the end of the programme, you and your team will have the chance to present your solutions to a panel during a Grand Final.

By joining i-Teams, you will have the chance to develop a range of new and existing skills, specifically on critical thinking, innovation and much more.

You will gain commercial awareness and exposure to a topical business challenge.

Lastly, each session will award you with 15 Employability Points and you have the chance to earn up to 120 points!

Frequently Asked Questions

There are 8 sessions, which include an introductory meeting and the grand final. The sessions last 2-hours are held weekly on a Tuesday between 17:00-19:00 in the Grimond Building.  

  You will receive mentorship and training during each session from an industry expert, followed by team to work in your team - with pizza - on the challenge.  


Ideally, yes. To benefit from the programme and to contribute sufficiently to your team, you need to attend as many of the sessions as you can.  

No. i-Teams is focused on creating multi disciplinary teams, with each student bringing different ways of thinking to the team. If you study a non-business degree, this is a great way to develop commercial awareness.
