As a Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) student, you have the option to live on either the University of Kent campus* or the Canterbury Christ Church University campus.
Accommodation at both locations is provided on a 44-week basis, and you’ll be living alongside other KMMS students, fostering a supportive and collaborative community.

To secure your KMMS accommodation for your first year, make sure to apply between the end of January 2026 and 30 June 2026. No deposit is needed to secure your room.

Returning student accommodation is also available for undergraduate students in their second year and above. Applications open in January, and returning students will be notified in December when they can begin applying.

We offer designated accommodation in the Park Wood options exclusively for KMMS students who wish to continue enjoying the convenience and community of campus living.
Returning student accommodation applications open at the end of January, and all KMMS students currently living on campus will receive an email from the Accommodation Team before applications open with everything you need to know to apply.
If you'd prefer, you can also apply for KMMS accommodation at Christ Church University.
All accommodation options at the University of Kent include utilities (i.e. gas/water/electrics), WiFi access and personal possessions insurance. No bedding or utensils are included, but you will have a Premium Plus Sports Membership from Kent Sport and access to a wide range of ResLife activities for free!
Unfortunately, there is no student car parking available. However, most students purchase a heavily discounted student Unibus pass which allows for travel across the county. Please see the transport pages for further information.

No, while we offer returning KMMS student accommodation you are free to choose from a wide range of private sector houses and flats, including purpose-built student accommodation, in Canterbury and the local area. Accommodation will be available while you are also on placement.
