Stephen Penfold, BA, MPhil

Part-time Teacher

 


Stephen has taught on various modules with Classical and Archaeological Studies at Kent for a number of years. He organizes study trips to Kent Museums and other institutions and runs the evening film and play viewings weekly during term.

Stephen is developing links with regional schools through the University's Partnership Schools initiative.

Stephen has a keen interest in early Western and Eastern Philosophy, as well as in Palaeoanthropology and Humankind during the Ice Age.

He is interested in myths and histories of 'lost cities on the seabed'.

An investigation into Plato's Atlantis dialogues has been pursued in recent years. This should culminate in the publication of a book entitled 'The Genesis of Atlantis'.

- Supervision of Extended assignments (Dissertation) with a Classical theme, especially relating to Greek myth, drama, culture or philosophy (CL504)
