University to hold election health hustings

The University will hold a pre-General Election hustings on Monday 20 April on the subject of health and social care policy.

The University’s Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS) has organised the hustings, which will take place in the Gulbenkian Theatre at the University’s Canterbury campus. Starting at 7pm, the event is free and open to all and there is no need to book a place.

The following parliamentary candidates have confirmed their attendance: Julian Brazier, Conservative Party; Robert Cox, Socialist Party of Great Britain; James Flanagan, Liberal Democrats; Jim Gascoyne, UKIP; Stuart Jeffrey, Green Party; Hugh Lanning, Labour Party.

Each of the candidates will present their health and social care policy and then members of the audience will have an opportunity to question them on these policy statements.

CHSS is part of the University’s School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research.
