Professor Richard Reece, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience, recently spoke with BBC Radio Kent about how the University is preparing for its 2020/2021 academic year.

During the discussion, Professor Reece explained some of the social distancing measures that the University is implementing with a focus on safety for all students and staff. He explained how, beginning in September, all lectures will be online but that many other learning activities will take place face-to-face, including seminars, laboratory sessions and performance pieces, which will be in-person and undertaken according to social distancing guidelines.

He also discussed the opportunities provided via the new online learning age, the ‘bubble system’ for the University’s on-campus accommodation, and how on-campus bars and social areas will operate from September.

Professor Reece also referred to the hard work and dedication of Kent staff as they make their preparations for the new year.
